“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
As teens, we all know what hard times are like. We face them each and every day. We are in the process of finding out who we are in a short period of time. Sometimes this leaves us questioning “Where is God?”, and, “Why is He letting this happen?”
Jeremiah 29:11 states that God is in control of your life, and He isn’t the one who does you harm. Why we go through tough times is because of Satan trying to keep us from happiness, truth and God. Sometimes, our own wrong decisions can be the culprit. But ultimately, God never causes difficult times; He only wants the best for you.
A few ways to deal with rough times are to talk to God, keep a personal journal of your thoughts, reaching out to a trusted person, or by reading the Bible. My favorite places to read are Psalms and Romans 8. A personal go-to verse is Jeremiah 31:3, “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn thee.” I encourage you to try these things, and always look forward to the brighter day ahead.
